> Why choose a registered dental hygienist for teeth whitening?

A registered dental hygienist is trained to assess whether whitening is suitable and has an ethical responsibility not to proceed if it is not. If your teeth or gums are not in the right condition, whitening is best delayed. For the best results, I recommend having seen a hygienist within the last six months, as heavy calculus and surface build-up can affect the outcome.

Meet Marnie St George
Dental Hygienist Teeth Whitening Specialist

I opened Polish + White to offer professional teeth whitening in a serene, luxurious and private setting where clients can feel welcome, relaxed and unhurried.

As a registered dental hygienist I wanted to create a safe space for people who feel uneasy about dental clinics.

My focus is simple, helping you feel like your best self.

> Clinical Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health and I practise within the registered dental hygienist scope in New Zealand. I have worked in dentistry for over 13 years and continue to practise dental hygiene part-time. This helps keep my clinical knowledge current and maintains professional connections with dentists if referrals or advice is required.

I am registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand and practise within the professional standards required for oral health practitioners. I am able to offer the same strength gels as dentists. Over the years I have developed a strong understanding of how teeth respond to whitening and the factors that can influence results.

When planning whitening treatment I consider the list below to ensure whitening is carried out carefully with realistic expectations.

  • Tooth and gum health

  • Existing dental restorations

  • Sensitivity risk

  • Natural variations in tooth shade

  • Teeth that are naturally darker than others

> Hygienist-led Teeth Whitening & Personalised Care

Every whitening appointment at Polish and White is one-on-one, with treatment planned around the individual rather than following a standard protocol. Tooth shade, enamel characteristics and lifestyle habits can all influence whitening results, so treatment is adjusted where needed to suit each person. Appointments are private and unhurried, and all procedures follow New Zealand Dental Council infection control and sterilisation standards.

Polish and White focuses exclusively on professional teeth whitening and I have carried out far more whitening treatments than if I had stayed in a general dental setting.

Over time this has given me a deeper understanding of how teeth respond to whitening and allows treatments to be tailored more precisely.

> A Calm, Private Environment

The idea was to create a boutique whitening studio away from the sounds and clinical atmosphere many people associate with dentistry, with carefully chosen details that create a luxury boutique feel rather than the typical clinical environment.

Located in Epsom, Auckland, we are just a short drive from Remuera, Newmarket, Parnell, Mt Eden, Orakei and Mission Bay.

Teeth whitening is a simple way to refresh your smile. Seeing the confidence my clients gain from their smile is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. My focus is always on providing whitening that is professional and carefully tailored to each person’s teeth and sensitivity.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Polish and White studio.
