Knowing your care provider matters.
My name is Marnie St George and I personally perform every teeth whitening treatment at Polish + White in Epsom. As a registered dental hygienist I am qualified to use higher-strength whitening gels than those typically found in cosmetic salons, while carefully managing sensitivity.
This is not cosmetic salon whitening and this is not rushed dentistry.
Yes. When delivered within clinical guidelines professional whitening is safe for teeth. It alters stain molecules within the tooth without removing enamel or causing lasting weakening. Gel formulation, including controlled oxygen free-radical activity and balanced pH, is key to managing enamel stress and sensitivity. More here >

Teeth whitening in 4 easy steps.
Here's a step-by-step overview of what to expect during your appointment at Polish + White.
Step 1. Assessment & preparation
Your appointment begins with a quick assessment to make sure whitening is suitable, followed by a before photo for shade comparison and a light polish to remove superficial surface deposits. A protective barrier is then applied to the gums, along with Vitamin E oil to the lips, before pre-treatment hydration.
*Professional teeth whitening uses hydrogen peroxide to gently break down stain molecules which exist within the enamel and underlying tooth structures.
Step 3. Post treatment care
After whitening treatment focuses on supporting enamel hydration through the use of a surface mineral balancing varnish or desensitising protocol. An 'after' photo is taken and a shade comparison is completed.
*These compounds absorb less light so more light is reflected back to the eye and teeth appear brighter, without changing the tooth structure.
Step 2. Whitening treatment
Once the teeth whitening treatment options have been decided. Gel is applied over 3 controlled cycles using a Beyond II blue light with ultrasonic to gently accelerate whitening. There is continuous monitoring to manage any sensitivity that might occur. The procedure can take between 50 mins to 1 hr 1/2 depending on the treatment.
*Hydrogen peroxide penetrates enamel safely and breaks stain molecules into smaller, less pigmented compounds.
Step 4. Aftercare and maintenance
After the treatment, a hydrating lip mask is applied and the aftercare protocol is reviewed. This includes a brief transition to white foods and drinks. Signature Treatment also includes 3 pre-filled whitening trays for 15-minute use at home to help stabilise the whitening result.
*Clinical trials show that combining in-office whitening with short periods of at-home tray whitening can help maintain colour stability for up to one year. A highly pigmented diet including coffee, tea and red wine may cause earlier fading.
